The Ætheric Calendar

The world begins with an exhalation and so each yearly cycle of the Ætheric Calendar begins as the day of Full Sun (Winter Solstice) ends and the cycle of days growing longer begins.

Summer Solstice then marks our year’s halfway point, where our year begins its inhalation and the days begin to grow shorter.

Ophiuchus, the Serpent Bearer, lies along Sun’s ecliptic and is crossed for about 18 days each year, making it the 13th ecliptic constellation. It is not included in the traditional 12 sign zodiac due to historical conventions from Babylonian and Greek astronomy, despite its position. This, despite Ophiuchus (~19 degrees) taking up over twice as much of Sun’s eliptic, as Scorpio (~7 degrees). Since there are 4 sets of 3 constellations within the 12 sign zodiac, that are each associated with the 4 elemental forces of nature (Earth, Water, Fire and Air), Ophiuchus as the 13th outlier naturally corresponds to the quintessence, the 5th element of æther.

Within our soul•ar system, Ophiuchus can be realized to be our final lesson of balanced transformation to achieve embodied awareness; lying between Scorpio’s lesson of “death” and Sagittarius’ lesson of meaning.

The Ætheric Calendar includes accurate Moon and Sun phases and constellation placements (including the 13th æther sign of Ophiuchus) and each of the 13 months are named after the constellations on our Sun’s eliptic in the order that he passes through them.

Each month has 28 days with the 365th day of Winter Solstice, lying outside of the months and floating in length, to account for Earth’s additional .2422 day to complete its orbit of the Sun.

Each day of the week then pays reverence to our Earth, where Moon rules the night and Sun rules the day. And so, the 7 days of the week are named after the remaining planets, starting from nearest to Sun to furthest from Sun.
